Join us for an open to public, free form movement and filmmaking jam before our opening screening! Here is how it works:
Step 1: Move! Filmmakers, movers and directors (or just anyone interested!) gather in the heart of Vancouver in the Woodwards Atrium. Bring a camera, smartphone, dance moves and your flips and tricks! This is an open and public environment for artists of all ages to come together with their cameras and movement expertise/concepts, connect with fellow participants, collaborate and create on the spot. Artists across disciplines will meet and get to know one another while working on any ideas they want to bring to the table.
Participants will also have the opportunity to upload and select their favourite footage from the jam into a shared cloud storage, so that files can be shared and dispersed amongst artists! Feel free to come and go within the 2 hours as you please! We suggest to pre-register below to get right in on the fun, but also feel free to sign up on the day of the event!
Step 2: Create! With this footage participants (who attended the event, or not) can use this footage to create a short film of their own! Footage will be put into a dropbox folder for artists to access, and will have 24 hours to create a 60 second film!
Step 3: Submit! Submit your creations by 5pm on September 14th, and our jury will select one film to be featured before each of our screenings!
We can't wait to see you there!
