Chat about your favorite films, favorite festival moments and debrief about the weekend! There will be live music by Vancouver Jazz band, Rain City Blue, so come have a drink and dance all night in celebration of everyone involved in year two of the festival!

FORMations

What is FORMations? Follow the steps bellow to see what its all about.

Step 1: Attend!
Emerging filmmakers, movers and directors (or anyone interested) can meet at the heart of Vancouver in the Woodwards Atrium. Bring a camera, smart phone, dance moves, skateboards or even a slack line! This is an open and public environment for artists of all ages to come together with their cameras and movement expertise/concepts, connect with fellow participants, collaborate and create on the spot. Artists across disciplines can meet and get to know one another while working on any ideas they want to bring to the table.
Participants will also have the opportunity to upload and select their favourit footage from the Jam into a shared cloud storage, so that files can be shared and dispersed amongst artists! Feel free to come and go within the 3 hours as you please! We suggest to Pre-register bellow to get right in on the jamming, but also feel free to sign up on the day of the event!

Step 2: Create!
With this footage participants (who attended the event, or not) will have 5 days to create a short film of their own using the footage taken from this event!

Step 3: Submit!
Submit your creations by 5pm on June 15th, and our jury will select one film to be featured before each of our screenings on the big screen at SFU Woodwards! Post these onto Instagram and tag @formvancouver with hashtags #FORMations2017 #FORMationscontest #FORM2017 and/or e-mail your shorts to info@f-o-r-m.ca to be entered!

The footage will also be uploaded to be compiled, edited and projected into an interactive installation at our opening party at the Lululemon Lab created by Chimerik!

Join us for a fun afternoon of celebrating movement and film leading up to our main programming on the 16th and 17th.
