CAPSULE is an online platform hosted by The National Arts Centre / NAC Dance in collaboration with F-O-R-M and Dumb Instrument Dance. CAPSULE celebrates the video creations of Canadian dance artists who in the last year, have produced short films as a way to sustain professional practice. CAPSULE offers a landing site for some of these works to converge, specifically, videos created between March 2020 - March 2021, a CAPSULE of time that saw many new tentacles of digital dance creation. CAPSULE is an opportunity for work, and by extension audiences, from across the country to be in conversation. Viewers might visit to watch a video made by an artist who lives on the East Coast and find themselves travelling across the country to be introduced to digital creations of many other dance artists, an eclectic array of work produced in a focused CAPSULE of time. The call for video submissions closed on March 5, 2021.

F-O-R-M is based in and streams from so called Vancouver, in what is colonially known as Canada, on the unceded and stolen traditional territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. F-O-R-M continues to reflect on and bring attention to connection to bodies, land and movement through filmmaking, documentation and storytelling. We are grateful to share and witness these stories together while inspiring movement towards positive change, wherever you may be.
