2026 Film awards

FORM is thrilled to announce three awards at our 2026 festival!
Award winners will be announced following the festival.

Creative catalyst Award presented by GEMFest

This award celebrates a female or gender-diverse artist whose work shifts narratives on- and off-screen through an imaginative approach to movement and cinema.

Youth Impact Award

SFU students gather to make up our 2026 Youth Jury, and focus their attention towards celebrating the dynamic perspectives of their peers. Guided by their bold, lively voices, they’ll award a film that left a lasting impression beyond the cinema.

Expanding the Form Award

To honour the ways that FORM is continually inspired by the works we screen, this award recognizes a film made by a Vancouver-based filmmaker who challenges the boundaries of what movement-on-screen can be.
