Traversing across vibrant imagined outerspaces to the dynamic city streets of Brasil, this collection of films reenergizes our understanding of the ways that street dance(s) interact with the camera. Tied together through the rituals of exchange and connection, these films become living archives of street dance communities near and far, commemorating the people keeping the culture alive.

In Santiago, a community of waackers led by Cami HT and Oscar Manuel is dedicated to teaching classes and organizing events to grow this lesser-known dance style. Matu introduces us to the classes through personal experience, taking us on a journey from frustration to self-acceptance and a sense of community. Cami HT and Oscar Manuel teach us about characterization and the creative process, while waackers Mati and Edu reveal the inner world of the dance through an on-camera performance accompanied by voiceovers sharing their feelings.

[ Salvador, Bahia] It crosses by the São Pedro clock; passes along Rua do Cabeça; cuts through Largo Dois de Julho; enters Rua do Meio. ROTA is the encounter with new possibilities of imagining surreal daily lives at the crossroads of the concrete jungle.
For those who look closely and have the chance to dance with the path. Not every day, but almost.

Where are you going? is an exploration, without a destination. Rather than ending up anywhere explores the moments in-between. Media and movement, for just that.
For our first film together we had to explore, not what we knew what would work; but what we thought might not. This film is a culmination of various explorations as dancer and animator, as mixed media artists, as Max and Ryan, together.
