You will be working closely with a small team of 5 between the ages of 20-32 years old. As an organization, we work collaboratively and value communication, self-awareness and trust. We are looking for a Communications Producer who can take initiative in leading our festival marketing strategy and delivery including social media, website updating and copywriting, influencers coordination, partner advertising/sponsorship fulfillment, and digital newsletters. Your role is to amplify the festival, our artists and partners through these channels and to support the team in coordinating delivery of these assets.

This position can be remote, although we will prioritize candidates who will be in Vancouver in November 2023. Please note that the majority of our team is based in Vancouver, BC, please ensure any time zone conversions will be feasible for your schedule.
Requirements:
Minimum 1-3 years experience in digital communications with strong leadership and communication skills
Experience in:
MailChimp
SquareSpace
Meta Business Suite + online ad creation
Social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Vimeo, and Facebook) including both organic and paid marketing tools
Canva
Understands and excels in copywriting and copy editing
Optimize social media posts (language, tone, message) based on our target audience
Create copy for newsletters and website in alignment with our mandate and values
Engaged with current industry best practices and can strategically align time-specific opportunities
Experience with Airtable an asset, but not required
Experience/interest in learning generating alt-text an asset, but not required
Has an interest and awareness of Vancouver/Canadian performing arts and film festival scene
Job Description/Timeline
This is a two-tier contract to recognize the flux of activity in our off-season vs. festival preparation.
May to June
Work with team to develop the marketing strategy for the festival
On going social media engagement + newsletter creation
Website turn over and revamp for ‘save the date’
July to December
Manage social media channels (Facebook, TikTok Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo)
Populate and update content on www.f-o-r-m.ca via square space
Create and share newsletters with subscribers
Collaborate with Visual Designer, Artistic Director and Associate Artistic Director on digital and print materials such as poster, TSA, handbills, and program guide
Create budget for online advertising including social media and influencer budget valued at $3000
Coordinate with Producer to complete sponsorship fulfillment via newsletter and social media
Provide festival asset package to sponsors, partners, and artists
Monitor, analyze and report interim social media stats and insights with the team over course of contract
Attend weekly production meetings and festival debrief
Be available and present for Festival events to document and amplify social platforms (November 3-19, 2023)
Other festival duties as required
Provide completed retrospective Final Report no later than Dec 31, 2023
Fee: up to $10,000 CAD
Based on:
Approximately 40 hrs/month from May - September
October - November months = approximately 60 hrs / month
$30/hr
