Camera + Movement Workshop with David Cooper + Sophia Wolfe

Join Professional dance Photographer and Videographer David Cooper and Dance Artist Sophia Wolfe as we will play and explore movement of the body and movement of the camera simultaneously. This workshop is open to anyone who wants to move their bodies and discover new ways of capturing this on film. How do the two respond to one another? How do they connect and work together? We will start with a group warm up through improvisation that will get us into our bodies, and into our filmmaking scenes, and then we will lead into tasks where you will have a chance to be the mover in front of the camera and the mover holding the camera. All movement generated throughout the day will be through improvisation.

David will lead us through some basic camera knowledge as well as some camera handling tools and techniques, including handing the Freefly Movi stabilizer and together we will discover ways we can use the camera to better capture and enhance moving bodies through moving images.

What to bring:

-a camera if you have one! DSLR or even a smartphone (It is not an issue if this is not accessible to you, we will have devices for you to use).
