Land acknowledgment

With our festival taking place both in person and online, we want to acknowledge that FORM is based in so-called Vancouver, in what is colonially known as Canada, on the unceded and stolen traditional territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

As uninvited guests to this land, FORM recognizes and extends our gratitude to the stewards of this land who have been protecting it since time immemorial. We take seriously the responsibility as an organization of artists, filmmakers, and non-profit workers to be in continuous conversation and relationship with Indigenous artists and to learn from, support, and uplift their voices as the festival grows. FORM continues to reflect on and bring attention and connection to bodies, land, and movement through filmmaking, documentation, and storytelling. We are grateful to share and witness these stories while inspiring movement towards positive change—wherever you may be.
